The Painted Boat is on the Sunshine Coast, 40 minutes north of the Horshoe Bay – Langdale ferry terminal. The Sunshine Coast is only about 2.5 hours from Vancouver but is a world apart in terms of peace and quiet – relaxation is the key here. Featuring jewel-like bays and pristine islands, the protected waters of Pender Harbour, British Columbia, have long been a refuge for Vancouverites. Pender Harbour is renowned for its summer fairs and September Jazz Festival and wealth of sea food. Painted Boat Resort Spa & Marina is nestled amongst five acres of Douglas fir, red cedar and arbutus. Inspired by the fishing structures along the coastline, Painted Boat has a distinctly ‘west coast’ look and feel, evoked through the use of exposed timber construction and expansive windows. The extensive use of natural materials blends seamlessly with the forested setting.
The 30 waterfront villas offer spectacular water views and large balconies complete with BBQs. Lavishly furnished, with an emphasis on comfort, the enormous two-bedroom suites offer fully-equipped open kitchens, custom Canadian-made wood furniture and local artists’ prints and ceramics. Complimentary wifi is included.
The protected, deep-water marina is steps away, as are the infinity pool, hot tub and fitness centre. Visit Solarice Spa for a pampering massage or holistic treatment.
