Train Station Inn

Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia

Our Rating

The century old Train Station in Tatamagouche has been restored with furnishings reflecting its railway past. The station itself and its spacious cabooses offer a unique Bed & Breakfast experience. Seven cabooses dating from 1911 to 1978 have been renovated into deluxe accommodations reflecting the age of the railway car. The Station has been restored with three bedrooms in the original Stationmaster's residence. Below, on the first floor, a railway museum, cafe and gift shop are in the men's and ladies' waiting rooms.  The Dining Car, built in 1928, is a first class experience with salmon and steak as the main entrees.

The Station Master's Suite is on the 2nd floor of the station with a balcony, kitchenette, parlour, TV room and 3 rooms as follows:

Belya Room: Double bed, en-suite bathroom.

Colburn Room: Double bed, single day bed, en-suite bathroom.

Penny Room: Double bed, private bathroom (not en-suite).

Railway Cars:

Boxcar Jimmie: Double bed, single mattress in loft, vestibule sitting area.

Caboose 4: Colonial decor, Queen bed, 2 single bunks, full bathtub.

Caboose 5: Victorian decor, Queen bed, full bathtub, cupola sitting area.

Why we like it:
