Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort | 70 Mile House, British Columbia

Located halfway between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies, the family-owned and operated luxury Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World is a guest ranch and eco-retreat, surrounded by 80,000 acres of raw wilderness. For riders, the ranch is legendary for its signature equine experience SiwashSynergy™, through which you will learn the ways of western horsemanship, from the groundwork, grooming and tacking up, to the riding. Activities include hiking, 3-D cross country archery, hatchet throwing, sport clay shooting and wilderness survival as well as fly-fishing and water sports.

Rooms

In the genuine log-built, Siwash Lake Ranch House – saved from the devastating wildfire of 2017 – are two spacious, two-room guest suites, the Siwash Suite and the Frontier Suite.

The Siwash Suite has a private balcony with double French doors, two king size beds (one can convert to two single beds), a sitting area with glass-fronted wood-burning stove and a pullout double-size sofa bed and two full en-suite bathrooms.

The Frontier Suite has two connecting bedrooms that share a 3-piece en-suite bathroom. One room has a view of the lake and meadow and has a king size bed and a sofa. The other is a bright and cozy room with two twin size beds and a love seat with pullout bed.

The Barn at Siwash, set on the ranch portion of the property, a one minute walk to the Ranch House, houses the Cariboo Barn Loft Suite. This suite has a separate bedroom with a king size bed, a living room with an L-sectional sofa that folds out to a double size bed, and an alcove which accommodates two more single-size beds—ideal for a family with two or three children.

The ‘Cariboo’ Suite has a four-piece bathroom, and a balcony out back that overlooks the horse corrals—the ultimate, authentic ranch accommodation!

The option of ‘glamping’ atop the Ridge at Siwash Lake was added in 2019; get comfy under a genuine canvas tent for an overnight campout and star watch at Siwash Star Camp™.

Your Siwash stay includes your choice of the SiwashSynergy™ Equine Experience and an assortment of half day wilderness adventures with your own private guide. It is all-inclusive of food, beverages, alcohol, accommodation, and full use of resort facilities for a wide range of self-guided activities.
