Quirpon Lighthouse Inn | Quirpon Island, Newfoundland

The journey to the Quirpon Lighthouse is as unique as the accommodation. The inn comprises of two buildings at the foot of a lighthouse – on a windswept islet at the northernmost point of Newfoundland’s Viking Trail – that requires a 30 minute boat ride through iceberg alley to arrive. If you want to feel at the edge of the world and away from modern life, then stay here for a couple of days. There is an indoor whale watching station, helipad, guided kayaking, hiking trails and no phones or TV. The ferry transfers (weather dependent) and meals are included in the price. Alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, scotch, rum, gin, bakeapple liqueur are available. Walk, watch the whales and icebergs drift past, and unwind. A zodiac boat tour is also available.

NB: Some walking/scrambling may be required to get to the inn itself.

Rooms

The 10 guest rooms are comfortable and cosy; 8 of which have private bath and two rooms that share and are ideal for families.
