On a peninsula, Auberge du Lac Taureau is 1.5 hours north of Montreal and 2 hours east of Mont Tremblant. It is a lovely resort, almost surrounded by calm water, consists of a number of wooden buildings with huge windows, connected by internal corridors. Rooms are well decorated with reproduction French Canadian furniture as well as some spacious condos. There are two restaurants, one with a huge terrace overlooking the lake and one more formal -both the restaurants at Auberge Lac Taureau serve excellent food with a strong Quebec influence and a good wine list. A list of the many activities would include water sports, hiking, wildlife, fishing, First Nations experience, ATV, mountain biking, horse riding and a spa.
