UnCruise Adventures – The Small Ship Cruise Line | Northern Passages & Glacier Bay

Holiday Duration: 7 Nights

"The holiday you arranged for us was great"

The holiday you arranged for us was great and we really appreciate all the work you did before we actually booked anything. When we were in Canada it became clear that your advice was sound and that you had prevented us from making a few mistakes in what thought we wanted to do, so thanks for that too!
In terms of the detail, we found that you had got the perfect balance between travelling between bases and sightseeing. The distances were never too long and the time spent in each location, although it ranged from one to four days, was just enough for us to see all we wanted but without rushing. So although we drove over 2000 miles, spent a day on a ferry and stayed in seven different locations, we have returned feeling relaxed and rested as well as fully entertained by the wide variety that Canada has to offer. We really feel that your arrangements were better value than anything we could have done ourselves.

Overview

Overview

Cruise through the largest national forest in the United States – home to grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, bald eagles and wolves. On your way to view Alaska’s massive glaciers, you enter some of the world’s deepest fjords. In the still of the evening, you will watch bears ambling along wild shorelines. And everywhere in the swirling currents below, the world’s largest mammals and the great whales forage in bountiful waters along the sheltered coastline. You will be joined onboard by a Park Ranger in Glacier Bay National Park – jewel of the US National Park system, UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, view stunning glaciers throughout Glacier Bay National Park, see South Marble Island sea lion haulout and spectacular birding and enjoy treks ashore in Glacier Bay National Park and along Chichagof Island’s waterfall coast.

There are Three Ships offering this Cruise

There are Three Ships offering this Cruise

Wilderness Adventurer

Refurbished in early 2011, the 60-guest Wilderness Adventurer is the ultimate platform to deliver an Un-cruise Adventure—aboard the ship and in the water. The interior complements the outside and both public and private spaces are loaded with amenities. Enjoy socializing in the main lounge, which evokes the style of a National Park Lodge or neighborhood pub and relaxing on deck or keeping watch for wildlife.

Three accessible decks are fully equipped for comfort and action. The sun deck has an on-deck hot tub, sauna and fitness equipment; the observation deck allows for over-the-top viewing from the bow; and the EZ Dock launch platform on the main deck makes getting in the water a cinch. Onboard are kayaks; stand-up paddle boards; inflatable skiffs; hiking poles; yoga mats; hydrophone for listening to below-surface sounds; and a bow-mounted underwater camera pipes the action to the lounge and to your cabin TV.

The three cabin categories aboard the Wilderness Adventurer:  Navigator; Trailblazer; and Pathfinder accommodate singles and doubles.

Wilderness Discoverer

The 76-guest Wilderness Discoverer underwent extensive refurbishment in early 2011 and guest raves are still flowing. Expedition adventure is top-of-mind with this ship; and adventure and discovery lay at its heart. The interior complements the outside and public and private spaces are loaded with amenities. Enjoy a main lounge that evokes the feel of a National Park Lodge or neighborhood pub and relax on deck or keep watch for wildlife.

Three accessible decks are fully equipped for comfort and action. The sun deck has a sauna and fitness equipment; viewing is over-the-top from the bow and under-the-stars from two hot tubs on the observation deck; and the EZ Dock launch platform on the main deck makes getting in the water a cinch. Onboard are kayaks; stand-up paddle boards; inflatable skiffs; hiking poles; yoga mats; hydrophone for listening below-surface; and a bow-mounted underwater camera pipes the action to the lounge and to your cabin TV.

The four cabin categories aboard the Wilderness Discoverer are:  Navigator; Trailblazer; Pathfinder; and Explorer. Depending on your cabin, singles, doubles or triples can be accommodated.

Wilderness Explorer

The newly renovated 76-guest Wilderness Explorer is equipped for action, adventure, and exploration. As with our other “Wilderness” ships, its interior complements the outside and public and private spaces are loaded with amenities. The ship offers a main lounge featuring a Douglas fir bar top, dining room, and ample space on deck for taking in the great outdoors.

Three accessible decks are fully equipped for comfort and action. Guests enjoy over-the-top views from the bow or from under-the-stars in the hot tub (Alaska); on-deck sauna and fitness equipment; and the EZ Dock launch platform makes getting in the water a cinch, even for a novice. Onboard are kayaks; stand-up paddle boards; inflatable skiffs; hiking poles; yoga mats; and a hydrophone for listening below-surface.

"The trip was spot on"

Thank you very much for organising an amazing trip to Canada for us this summer. The trip was spot on as to what we wanted and quoting the children ‘we wouldn’t change a thing’. Thank you for the time in organising and providing the various options to make it so good, it was much appreciated.
