Highlights include a stay at the fabulous Elmhirst’s Resort, a full day of canoeing and rafting on the Ottawa River.

Accommodation
This holiday includes hotel stays in Toronto at the start of your trip and Ottawa as your final destination, and a 2-night stay in a deluxe cottage at Elmhirst’s Resort on the shores of Rice Lake.
You will also stay at Madawaska Kanu Centre in a private cabana on a full board basis from where you will enjoy your full day canoeing before a further 2-night stay in an ensuite cabana at Owl Rafting Resort for easy access to your guided rafting on the Ottawa River.

I am pleased to say that all the arrangements worked perfectly from start to finish. The Atlantic Tours itinerary was excellent and a special mention should go to both our guide (Marion) and driver (Don) who managed everything and everybody with not only professional aplomb but also a great sense of humour. The hotels were of a very good standard as was the food that was included - suffice to say that we are now working to remove some of the extra poundage gained as a result of our indulgences! We would not hesitate to recommend your services and will be more than happy to use them again in the future.

A morning visit to the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough reveals the evolution of this ancient vessel. See the worlds largest collection of paddled watercraft! Travelling north, you will arrive at the wilderness resort of Madawaska Kanu Centre set in the maple woods, on the banks of the Madawaska River. Your 2-night stay is in a private cabana which give you the sense of camping with all the comforts of traditional accommodation. Trails lead away from the compound through quiet forests, and nearby waterways offer a place for a refreshing dip. Dinner is included tonight.

After breakfast, travel into the hinterlands of Upper Canada and arrive at the OWL Rafting Resort for your 2-day stay in a ensuite cabana. Enjoy the waterfront resort, practice your paddling strokes and get ready for a 4-hour rafting on the Ottawa River. Evening fireside activities, delicious meals, snacks and use of all the resort’s amenities are all included. Dinner is not included on day 6, check-in begins at 17:00 at Owl Rafting Resort. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on day 7.
