Rocky Mountaineer | Journey Through the Clouds Discovery

Holiday Duration: 8 Nights

"The Rocky Mountaineer itself was a wonderful experience"

It was a good idea to book us into the same hotel as the Rocky Mountaineer would use for our break in Vancouver before we joined the train. The Pan Pacific is in an excellent location with the Hop on Hop off ticket office just outside the main entrance. We were able to maximise the short time we had.

The Rocky Mountaineer itself was a wonderful experience, we were made to feel special by the teams on both routes. I would definitely recommend the Gold service, the two-level carriage provided excellent views of the spectacular scenery. We were lucky enough to see several types of bears, moose, a variety of deer, ospreys, and bald eagles.

“The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World”

“The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World”

The Rocky Mountaineer train, designed especially with you in mind, travels through the day and stops for the night and ensuring you don’t miss any of the phenomenal scenery and yet have a comfortable bed for the night.

Rocky Mountaineer’s most popular holiday operates in either direction starting in either Vancouver or Calgary.
Spend your first night in the waterside city of Vancouver, then take the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer to Jasper and Kamloops through stunning mountain scenery, then on to the Icefields Parkway.

Travel on to Banff (or Lake Louise if you prefer), see Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos, but not before seeing the stunning views from the top of Banff Gondola.  Then head to Calgary for your last night.

There are a number of different itineraries with the Rocky Mountaineer and all can be added to a tailor-made holiday to suit you. If you would like to add extra days at the start or end, or add in an Alaskan Cruise or  time on Vancouver Island, please talk to one of our experts about how to make this holiday the perfect one for you.
