“The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World”
The Rocky Mountaineer train, designed especially with you in mind, travels through the day and stops for the night and ensuring you don’t miss any of the phenomenal scenery and yet have a comfortable bed for the night.
This short Rockies holiday not only includes the memorable two-day journey onboard the Rocky Mountaineer but also has four nights hotel accommodation, an amazing heli-sightseeing tour and a trip on the Banff Gondola. Enjoy the best of the Rockies in a short space of time.
The tour operates between Calgary and Vancouver and can be taken in either direction. Frontier Canada can also amend the tour for you if you wish. You can choose the level of comfort you would like on both the train and the hotels.
Please note the Rocky Mountaineer runs from late April till early October*.
We can tailor this holiday, adding in extra nights at most locations, adding in an Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver afterwards, changing the non rail portion to a self drive if preferred for example. Please let us know what you would like and we will put together your ideal rail holiday in Canada.

Today, enjoy a full-day tour along one of the most scenic highways in the world as you travel to Jasper National Park on the Icefields Parkway. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. At the Columbia Icefield Centre, time is provided for lunch (not included) after you have had a chance to experience the Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure (admission included). Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Afterward, brief stops will be made at Bow and Peyto Lakes before arriving back in Lake Louise this afternoon.

Your journey takes you through a spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie – where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven.
