Overview
The 5-day Algonquin Park canoe and camping adventure features a mixture of a canoe trip and log cabin adventure. This trip is great for those people who would like to experience canoeing and camping in Algonquin Park but also have a little bit of log cabin comfort. The 3 day/2-night canoeing part of the holiday presents excellent opportunities to see moose or hear wolves while the 2 days/2 nights at the Algonquin Log Cabin offer great hiking and back-country comfort.
The Algonquin Canoe Adventure is for people at any level of experience. The pace is very relaxed, as the trip objective is to have fun, slow down and leave plenty of time to explore the beauty of Algonquin Park.

Our guide was really very good, for the whole 3 days that we were with him. He was knowledgeable about the animals, flora and fauna, and was patient and kind with the kids, even taking them canoe surfing on the lake. As a treat our guide allowed us to take a paddle at 5.30am to watch the sunrise from a special spot on the lakes, which was totally magical.

Today you will be transferred up to the rendezvous location in Algonquin Park (or drive yourself in your car rental).
Meet at 12.30pm and after lunch, load the packs and canoe into Algonquin Park. Along the way learn how to paddle, portage and have loads of time to swim in the clean freshwater. Set up camp on a scenic point covered in Red Pine and enjoy your first meal cooked by a campfire. Lying in your tent, nod off to the sound of the west wind whistling high above.

After a tasty breakfast, break camp and paddle east through a series of classic Algonquin Park lakes. A floating lunch gives you the energy to paddle up a bog where you will have a great opportunity to see beaver, Great Blue herons and moose. Your final stop is on a beautiful lake where you will have the afternoon to hike, swim, and fish or take a siesta! Enjoy fresh baked bannock cooked over the fire and listen to legends and myths of travelling through the Canadian wilderness.

The smell of fresh coffee and bacon frying gets you out of your sleeping bags and up for breakfast. After packing, go out for a hike through a mixed maple forest learning about the unique mix of flora and fauna. Learn to solo a canoe and to navigate enroute back to the take out, stopping along the way for a large smorgasbord lunch. “Take out” in the late afternoon and transfer to the Algonquin Log Cabin. Take a shower, sauna, and enjoy wine and cheese followed by a delicious dinner at the Algonquin Log Cabin.

After breakfast, head out for the day to explore the trails around the Algonquin Log Cabin. A hike along the trail to Music Lake features an interpretation of the boreal forest, the beaver pond, and spruce bogs. Picnic lunch at Music Lake before hiking to Surprise Lake where a 26-foot Voyageur Canoe waits. Enjoy a leisurely paddle as you island hop your way down the lake and arrive via canoe back at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Relax, swim or take a sauna. Canadian dinner followed by “Voices of Algonquin” night paddle.
