Experience the excitement of one of the world's greatest races and have the chance to run your own team of dogs. During the famous Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race competitors travel 1000 miles between Whitehorse in the Yukon and Fairbanks in Alaska in as little as 10 days! On your Yukon Quest VIP package you will experience all the behind the scenes race action as you join the teams on their mandatory 36 hour layover in Dawson City - home of the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush - before travelling onwards to Whitehorse. While the race is still on you will be able to enjoy days of dog sledding yourself. You will learn how to work with a team of sled dogs while they will teach you the magic of travelling through the snow covered, northern backcountry. At the end you will have the chance to cheer the teams crossing the finish line in Whitehorse, celebrating their victory in conquering the toughest sled dog race in the world.

Your local VIP guide will meet you at the airport and provide a private transfer downtown. Your Arctic outerwear rental will be waiting in your room, to ensure for correct sizing and fitting, as well as a welcome pack with updated details on your itinerary. After breakfast at your hotel, you will head back to the airport for your charter flight to Dawson City, which today still retains its turn-of-the-century pioneer feel with saloons with batwing doors and buildings with wooden facades. After your private transfer to your hotel and lunch, you will take a short city highlight tour of Dawson City’s most famous locations.

Today you will experience the relaxed pace of Dawson City while you wait for the first team to arrive. The town’s fire siren will announce the first team in, and everyone rushes down to the checkpoint to see who has arrived. To add to the excitement, the first team to arrive is given several ounces of gold by Dawson City as a reward. Spectators will have the chance to meet the mushers and their handlers as they load the sleds and prepare to depart. and of course, you’ll get up close and personal, with the real stars of the show, the 14 delightful Alaskan huskies that comprise each team. In the afternoon, you'll explore Dawson's surrounding by snowmobile. Tonight, you’ll visit Diamond Tooth Gerties for some more casino fun, and for the more adventurous, a chance to experience one of the North’s most infamous rituals, the Sourtoe Cocktail, a Dawson City tradition!.Close
After breakfast, you will depart on a Tombstone Territorial Park excursion. Your guide will take you up the Dempster Highway to the Park, known by its granite peaks and subartic tundra landscape. You could also get to see some arctic wildlife.Close
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your VIP charter flight back to Whitehorse. You'll land at Pelly Crossing checkpoint where the Quest officials check all is ok with the teams. You will then fly back to Whitehorse.

Today your guide will take you on a Whitehorse city and country tour, including highlights such as the Yukon quest headquarters, Yukon Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Springs. In the evening you will be taken to Braeburn Lodge to see the first mushers arrive at the last checkpoint before the finish line. You will also go Aurora hunting.Close
During your stay, your guide will have been keeping tabs on the race and will be sure to keep you update so you can be on the finish line today and witness when the teams arrive. Depending on expected arrival times, there may be time for some optional snowshoeing or snowmobiling.Close
