Winter Holiday in Quebec Dogsledding Adventure Through Saint Maurice Wildlife Reserve
If you really want to experience the raw energy of nature, nothing compares to a dog sledding adventure in the wild territories of the Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve in Quebec. You’ll find a land of pioneers, log drivers and travellers. This protected area stretches over 784 km2 and features 245 lakes and several rivers. Explore the pristine forest pulled by a team of huskies; you may see moose, deer, beavers or wolves. You will discover how the early pioneers lived and journeyed as you glide through the Reserve through forests and across frozen lakes and rivers. Revel in the silence of the back country, interrupted only by the dogs or perhaps the howl of a wolf in the distance.

Montreal to Saint Maurice Wildlife Reserve
Make your way from Montreal to Saint Maurice Wildlife Reserve and meet up at the Adventure Centre with your musher (guide). Your musher will teach you the art of harnessing the huskies and you will drive your own sled. You will be carried by your powerful dogs while catching a glimpse of the ever changing landscapes as you glide across the winter wonderland. At midday, you will have a tasty meal cooked over a campfire. A journey featuring frozen lakes and rivers will then lead you to your cosy rustic cottage where you’ll spend the night in the heart of the Canadian forest, completely isolated from the rest of the civilization!

Saint Maurice Wildlife Reserve to Montreal
Continue on your dogsled journey through this incredibly tranquil wilderness. Only the hissing of the sled runners over the snow or the occasional cry of a tenacious wildfowl will interrupt the quietness of this vast, dense forest. After a fireside lunch, you will return to the trail to discover further peaceful realms, those small, secluded spots whose existence is known only by the woodsmen and the mushers. It is then time to return to the kennel where you’ll say goodbye to your dogs. Back at the Adventure Centre at the end of the day, you’ll have a farewell dinner before returning to Montreal.Close
