Whitehorse to Watson Lake
Today you will head east from Whitehorse along the Alaska Highway, into the Yukon's interior, passing through small towns and unique communities and rugged wilderness. Arriving in Watson Lake, take some time to visit the 'signpost forest' with over 10,000 signposts donated by visitors from around the world and also the World War II historical display at the airport.

Mayo to Dawson City
Travelling farther northward, your day will be spent travelling through the wilderness of the Yukon heartland, home to large mammals such as moose, caribou and grizzly bears. You will arrive later in the day in Dawson City, an historic, rustic Gold Rush town whose unpaved streets and wooden boardwalks are still roamed by miners and their descendants and where you will spend the next 2 nights. You can tour Bonanza Creek road and the Goldfields, pan for gold and see how more than 50,000 miners, merchants, dance hall girls and gamblers, searching for wealth and fame, left their mark in the valley’s of the Klondike, Indian and Yukon Rivers. At night, stop in at Diamond Tooth Gerties and play a round or 2 of the Vegas-style games, or sidle up to the bar and enjoy the Can Can floorshow. To cap off your evenings, take a drive to the top of the Midnight Dome, and marvel at the views over the Yukon and Klondike river valleys.

Dawson City to Beaver Creek
Crossing the Yukon River, you will embark on one of the truly great wilderness drives in North America. Revel in the panoramic views off the aptly named Top of the World Highway which traverses mountain tops and ridges and enters Alaska. The crossroads town of Chicken, Alaska is the ideal midway stop before you loop back in to Canada and arrive in the small town of Beaver Creek and you will overnight nearby.

Beaver Creek to Haines Junction
A shorter drive on the Alaska Highway today allows time to independently explore natural wonders such as the shores of Lake Kluane, or the snow-capped mountains and glaciers of the St Elias Mountains of the the amazing Kluane National Park. Arrive later in Haines Junction and if time, visit the First Nations Daku Cultural Centre, a highlight of this frontier town.

Your onward journey for Whitehorse will include a midway stop at the village of Champagne where ancient locat culture comes to life on your Long Ago People's Place First Nations Guided Tour. You will see the traditional living structures of a First Nations Village and also demonstrations of hunting practises and food preparation that were practised for centures by the original inhabitants of the area. Tour includes tea and traditional bannock break.
Your second day is free to discover Whitehorse; visit the SS Klondkie, the Beringia Centre or the MacBride Museum.
