Day 1-2

Calgary to Kananaskis Country

Arrive in Calgary, collect your car and start your drive toward the Rockies. Your first couple of nights will be in Kananaskis County; a little visited and very beautiful area comprising 5 provincial parks and four wildland parks in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. In the late spring and summer, the wild flowers are spectacular and year round there is an enormous variety of outdoor activities including hiking, riding, fly-fishing and caving.

During this time you will be able to explore all of Banff National Park, take the Sulphur Mountain Gondola, hop on the Lake Minnewanka Cruise, or perhaps go horse riding, canoeing, or play some golf. Take your camera for some memorable pictures of exquisite blue lakes such as Peyto Lake and of course Lake Louise.

Day 6-8

Banff to Jasper

Today will be one of the most memorable days of your holiday as you drive northwards along the famed Icefield Parkway. There are several important places to see en route. Peyto Lake is one of the most photographed lakes in the Canadian Rockies for a good reason and you must stop off at the Athabasca Glacier where you can take a trip on the glacier aboard the Ice Explorer. Added to the excitement in 2014 is the Glacier Skywalk experience which begins with a five minute coach transfer from the Glacier Discovery Centre which is about half way up the Icefield Parkway. You will stroll along the Discovery Trail; a fully-accessible, cliff-edge walkway that extends along the Sunwapta Valley. You will discover how glaciers are formed, how the eco-systems work and perhaps best of all are the views from the glass-floored observation platform 280 metres (918 ft) over the Sunwapta Valley.

3 nights in Jasper.

Day 9-10

Jasper to Edmonton

You have a four hour drive today for a stay at either the West Edmonton Mall or downtown Edmonton. Your time in Canada’s 'festival city' will likely be spent exploring North America’s largest shopping and entertainment centre, West Edmonton Mall, or maybe taking a trip back in time at Fort Edmonton. The next day you will head back to Edmonton airport to drop your car and take the overnight flight back to the UK

1 night in Edmonton.
